How Utility ARRA Grants are Advancing the Industry

Joe Paladino, Senior Advisor, Office of Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability, U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)

 

This session features a DOE speaker discussing the grants issued to utilities and the progress against those grants with respect to advancing the industry, creating jobs and sustaining jobs.

 

Joe Paladino | CS Week Executive Summit

Joe Paladino serves as Senior Advisor within the Department of Energy’s Office of Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability where he oversees the effort to determine the impact of the smart grid projects funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. Mr. Paladino has worked at DOE for 20 years in programs involving: a) nuclear waste management, b) energy efficient buildings, and c) electric grid modernization. His particular interest is in the advancement and commercialization of technology. Prior to joining DOE, he worked for over 10 years in the private sector. This experience includes undertaking marketing, sales and technology development efforts at Westinghouse Electric Corporation in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Mr. Paladino has an undergraduate degree in Biology from Middlebury College and a graduate degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.
