Microsoft SharePoint has become the de facto business
collaboration and information management platform for
the enterprise, providing a unique set of capabilities
within a single unified infrastructure. This course
explores how utilities are using SharePoint 2010 to
support content management, collaboration and business
intelligence (BI), including self-service BI and spatial
dashboards.
This course will discuss how utilities can leverage
their SharePoint investment and Bing Maps to build
dashboard solutions for Incident and Outage Management
with integration to the company’s GIS systems and other
back office applications. A review of the latest BI
components integrated with SharePoint 2010, including
the new SQLServer 2012 data visualization features of
Power View will also be provided.

apply SharePoint technology;

Describe how utilities can use business intelligence
and SharePoint to deliver key information to
decision makers across the organization;

Describe how utilities can create spatial dashboards
that provide powerful, easy to use visualization of
incidents, outages and smart meter information.

specialist, Laura Karbarz advises customers on
how to leverage Microsoft technologies to
deliver business results in the energy market.
She has more than 24 years of experience in the
technology industry as a sales and consulting
services executive. Laura has become a leader in
articulating the value and return on investment
of information technology purchases and
implementation.
Laura started her career in the consulting
industry as an application architect and
developer evangelizing leading edge
object-oriented technologies. As a senior
manager at Accenture, she led many large
enterprise systems development and
implementation projects including customer order
systems for electric and gas utility customers,
energy trading systems, customer care and
finance.
Laura graduated from the University of St.
Francis in Joliet, Illinois with a B.S. degree
in Computer Science. |

director, Steve Molsberry is responsible for
advising customers on how to deploy business
intelligence technologies to provide better
visibility to organizational performance and
gain competitive advantage. He has more than 20
years of experience in consulting services with
a primary focus on data warehousing, analysis
and reporting solutions.
Steve started his career in the consulting
industry as a data warehouse architect and
developer creating solutions that provide
information to decision makers across an
organization. As a data warehouse architect,
Steve has led multiple projects in a variety of
industries that consolidate information from
diverse systems to provide a single view of the
customer.
Steve graduated from Vanderbilt University with
a B.A. degree in Economics. |
