Many
utilities are experiencing challenges from an aging CIS.
Are emerging Smart Grid technologies and/or demand
response requirements taxing your current CIS? Is the
underlying technology for your CIS approaching
obsolescence? Are key CIS support staff nearing
retirement age?
This course introduces a practical step-by-step process
for assessing your CIS alternatives, determining the
optimal path and building a Business Case for your
organization.
The course provides a mix of “how to” methods and
techniques illustrated by real life examples from other
utilities facing similar CIS challenges.
Course Objectives:
-
Use of a structured
methodology/process to:
-
Execute a functional and technical assessment of a
current CIS and related processes.
-
Establish a “Future State” vision for CIS and
related processes.
-
Assess various alternatives to move from current
state to future state.
-
How to build a
business case and the organizational support to
proceed with the chosen alternative.
