Requirements Gathering and Testing -
Two Crucial Project Phases
2-Day course:
Monday, May 18th and Tuesday May 19th.
Whether
you are implementing a brand new system, large or small, or adding enhancements
to your current system, two critical parts of your project are Requirements
Gathering and Testing. These phases of a project are time-consuming, expensive
and often poorly executed. In this two day CS Week College course, we will help
you understand testing and the role it plays in any project. The Test
Presentation will focus on the different types of tests and when to use each,
the aspects of setting up and maintaining a test environment, test case
organization development and reporting results of your testing. Additional
topics include implementing risk-based testing when you don’t have enough time
for a full-blown test and how to choose effective testers.
After you
have learned the basics of testing, our presenters will discuss how properly
developing business requirements at the beginning of a project can help to make
your testing successful. Over half of all defects arise during the requirements
phase of a project but we don’t find them until the testing phase of the project
or even in production. There are eight best practices that can be added to any
requirements methodology that will bring down the rate of defects dramatically,
including involving testers in the requirements process. Learn these eight best
practices and start improving your requirements and project results immediately.
